Open urban spaces predominate in the film, which was shot in the two largest Lithuanian cities, Vilnius and Kaunas at a time when life in the USSR had become less restrained. The new Soviet Lithuanian cinema developed under the influence of Neorealism, French New Wave and the Polish Film School. The picture shows the cinematographer Algimantas Mockus (holding the camera) and his assistant Henrikas Mikalauskas, the film director Arūnas Žebriūnas (walking beside them) and his assistant Gytis Lukšas (standing on the right of Žebriūnas). The Russian actor Sergey Martinson in the role of the Lonely Old Man can be seen seated on a bench, with the little actress Austėja Kokštaitė standing next to him.
