A 60 kilos weight camera and a 40 ASA film

The British Vinten camera was one of the first technical film equipment bought by the Slovene film industry. At the time they bought several cameras and the lighting equipment. The camera has 60 kilograms (imagine carrying it up to the mountains for shooting, which the crew of Kekec did – they were the first to use this camera for shooting on location) and is very well protected, one could even say armoured. The viewfinder of the camera is uncommonly large, so one can watch through it with both eyes and the image in the viewfinder is adequately big and bright. The film stock at the time was not very sensitive to light, shooting Kekec they used black & white film of 17 DIN or 40 ASA, which means they had to use a lot of artificial lighting even on exterior locations.
